Several countries still require a valid vaccination certificate as a condition of entry into their territory.
Inform yourself well about the Covid-19 entry conditions that apply in the country of destination and in the transit countries you cross during your trip. This is to avoid unpleasant surprises.
Please note that several countries still require a valid vaccination certificate as a condition of entry.
The European Vaccination Certificate (proof of vaccination) is available digitally via the app GovApp.be or you can download it via myhealth.belgium.be. Is digital not an option? Residents of the Brussels-Capital Region can also call the call centre (02 214 19 19) to request that it be sent to their home address by post. You can also go to the kiosk at the Pacheco vaccination centre (Boulevard Pacheco 42-1000 BXL). In the latter cases, take into account at least one week of processing time.
If you were vaccinated with one dose of the J&J vaccine or two doses of another vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, Astra Zeneca, Novavax), your vaccination certificate is valid from 14 days after your last vaccination up to a maximum of 270 days or 9 months for people aged 18 and over and up to 1 year (12 months) for young people up to the age of 17. After that, its validity expires.
Only after you have also received a booster vaccine will your vaccination certificate be valid indefinitely. So don’t be taken by surprise on the day of, or shortly before, your departure. The time between the administration of a booster vaccine and its registration takes between 24 hours and 6 days depending on your personal situation.
In some cases, a negative test result or a recovery certificate offers solace but, again, you should take into account the time it takes for your test result to be announced or the validity of your recovery certificate. A recovery certificate is only valid from the 12th day after a positive test until 6 months or 180 days afterwards.
People travelling back to our country should also note that there are still measures in place for travellers returning from a very high risk country.
